On the heels of a second consecutive College Football Playoff championship and another star-studded NFL Draft class, few college football programs have the momentum that the Georgia Bulldogs do currently.

The Kirby Smart-coached collective has produced 11 first-round picks in the NFL Draft since 2020, including three in this year’s event, with the Bulldogs serving as one of the greatest producers of NFL-caliber talent in the country.

Whether the trio of UGA prospects to join the list of first-round picks in 2023 (Jalen Carter, Broderick Jones, and Nolan Smith) will one-up those that hailed from Athens before them remains to be seen.

Which Former Bulldogs Were Most Valuable To Their NFL Team?

The leader in the UGA value clubhouse among current NFL players is former No. 1 overall pick Matthew Stafford, who has a weighted career approximate value of 116.

Much of that value stems from Stafford’s dependability under center, with the 2009 top pick starting all 191 of the games he’s appeared in to date.

During that stretch, Stafford has thrown for 52,082 yards and 333 touchdowns (to 169 interceptions), while completing 63.2% of his passes to date.

Other former Bulldogs that cracked the top-five value wise include linebacker Justin Houston, who has a value of 72 after racking up 111.5 sacks across 163 NFL games, as well as center Ben Jones and linebackers Roquan Smith and Leonard Floyd.

Jones has a career value of 58 in 172 NFL games, while Smith is listed at 53 and Floyd comes in at 48, according to the site.

The rest of the top 10 includes running back Nick Chubb of the Browns (45), center David Andrews of the Patriots (44), linebacker Lorenzo Carter of the Falcons (24) and Mecole Harman and Andrew Thomas of the Jets and Giants, who are given 22 value rankings by the site.

All 10 former UGA players represent some of the best and brightest talents on the sport’s biggest stage, deepening the school’s ties with each of the 32 clubs that play each Sunday in the NFL.
